Scary Movie is one of the original spoof movies, and as a result, it is one of the few that are genuinely funny. It maintains wit, irony, plenty of references to classics, and enough satire to deem it one of the few good movies in a genre filled with abysmal failures. Sometimes the humour is a tad over the top, but it creates humour without trying too hard and is plenty of fun to watch. Scary Movie unfortunately started a legacy of half-star sequels, but on its own, it is worth a light watch.
