Hokey fun, that weirdly cut out a scene where Tarzan kills an ape to set an example to the other apes (it was kept in for the French release). The effects are ropey, the dialogue pure fromage and stilted at that, however it all moves along at a brisk pace (never mind the numerous plot holes) and actually is a very faithful update of what was always a natty film series in the first place. Jane March is cast purely to get Dad's attention (a la Bo Derek), but fits Jane like a glove. Casper Van Dien is Casper Van Dien, but then you already knew that. Sunday afternoon silliness and nothing more.
