Dedicated to Apichatpong Weerasethakul's parents, both were doctors in north Thailand. This movie is like an apple sliced into two, one half is peeled and the other added with a bit of lemon juice to enhance the flavor. The first half of the movie is set on a provincial hospital during the 60's or 70's. The simple daily life of doctors as they deal with patients and other staff. The other half is set in a modern day hospital with modern medical equipments and forward thinking doctors and staff. The film is detach with no dramatic scenes only the lull of the daily life of doctors and other medical staff but differentiates how development affect the mind set of people in a positive light.  True to A. Weerasethakul style of film making, he breaks story telling rules by breaking down the film structure into two and leaves the audience to judge for themselves the subtle differences in mindset and attitude of the characters.
