This Seth Grossman story is about man’s struggle to find himself; and in this movie, it seems that the only way to do that is to experience what it is like to be on opposite poles or viewpoints. The mother’s viewpoint is the usual, protective or rather domineering, idea that parents always know best although somewhere she seems to have realized that her preventative ways no longer work on her children. Sometimes, it is not the mother nor the mother’s rival, which in this story, is the elephant, that would open the eyes of everyone. We often get too engrossed in the things of sense and feelings that seeing life as it is becomes a luxury, or shall we say a “waste of time”, to be noticed.
Not for me
