This is a relief from the Barbie Doll faced women in beauty pageants. Real women have curves and more chips on their shoulders readable by looking into their smile. I liked how this movie presented the materiality of pageants and what the “crown” really represented. The fact that the pageant featured mothers with more than 3 children and problems faced by ordinary people added realism into the film.
