The Last Day makes use of an excellent film score to reflect the plight of migrant refugees. Set in 1990 Kashmir, a family is forced to live and care for their dying father in a refugee camp. The film utilizes colored scenes to display the family's dreams of once again living in their homeland. While, black and white scenes display their current plight. The difference underscores the bleak reality of their situation. Coupled with average acting, The Last Day succeeds just enough to shaken viewers' perception of migrant refugees.
