I totally understand the crudeness in terms of plot, production design, acting and the musical scoring, it is 1902 after all. It reminded me of Charlie Chaplin moves and while the creators may have intended it to be sort of educational the viewers are nevertheless treated to a comical interpretation of a so-called trip to the moon. I felt sad though, because women were somehow relegated to tasks that we normally don't expect them to be. In the flick, women do the pushing for the "spacecraft" to lift off, among other things. But then again, it's 1902! Do check out this short film.
