Well they do say you should never judge a book by its cover. The samernrule clearly applies to movies. Satan's Baby Doll sports a veryrnprovocative poster whose design is somewhat similar to the work ofrnfantasy artist Boris Vallejo. It would only be fair to say that nothingrnin the film itself resembles this painting at all. The misleadingrnposter is the best thing about this. This flick is one of many European movies that combined horror withrnsex. If anything this is a sex film with horror elements, rather thanrnthe other way around. It isn't an especially erotic movie though, so itrnfails in its primary objective. In fact it's a bit of a bore mostly. Itrndoes have a nice setting but that's about all it has going for it. It'srna badly directed affair with a simple yet confused story aboutrnpossession. It's very difficult to care very much what happens. It'srnessentially a tedious sleaze-fest and that is never a good combination.rn
