Compelling with a bit of comedy and romance! An engrossing film by director Yonggyun Kim ( known for movies like Killer Toon and The Red Shoes) that tackles issues like a man's devotion for a woman he loves, the Western impact on a relatively conservative Korean culture as well as how a woman's assertive nature can be a threat for a dynasty and men rulers. I find this movie very interesting, in that it mixes political issues with a very personal story about romance and one man's quest to protect the woman he loves. Aside from the elaborate costumes and great production design, to the rituals seen throughout the movie it is, above all, the interactions between Mu-myeong  (Cho Seung-woo) and the queen Min Ja-young (Soo-Ae) that were very memorable for viewers. These are undoubtedly two highly-rated Korean actors that are very good at their craft.  Cinematography was impressive and the support cast are very commendable in their acting portrayals as well. This is worth checking out!
