Engaging and riveting! The title itself will intrigue you and draw your attention right away.  Director Kaurismaki deftly gives us a peek on the individualism and dynamism of this lesbian ruler, Queen Kristina.  The film tackles religion, power and romance and while the historical element is intriguing the romance and love element also draws tantamount reactions from viewers.  Commendable cast and with impressive cinematography to boot,  I give this a 4 stars and would highly recommend this to mature viewers.
