A short but particularly impactful French comedy-cum-road movie film that's both hilarious and well...tender. Tenderness follows Lise and Frans who have been separated for the past 15 years, after their son is injured in a ski accident, the pair have to spend a two day car journey together to go rescue him. The premise itself doesn't sound like one ripe for hilarity, and it might have been a misnomer to describe Tenderness as so. It's not laugh out loud funny but more humorous in its familiarity. A great and under seen comedy that my only major gripe with is that it was not 20 minutes longer.
