Samuel L Jackson really is one of a kind and 'Snakes on a Plane' is probably the best example of all of his films as to why we all love him ('The 51st State' coming a close second). Here he is at his most straight-faced, not chewing up the scenery like he did in 'Pulp Fiction' or 'Jackie Brown', or going through the motions in the terrible 'The Man'. He is an actor who will contribute a performance that is deserving of the lines he is given and the plot he is a part of. He will do this for whatever film script lands on his doormat that takes his fancy and pays well. He famously didn't even read the script for this. But then who would need to?
