When you get to the credits you'll understand why this understated film is really rather good.  There's a whole load of very high production values deeply embedded in this down to earth yet broad reaching film.  You can't make a short film like this without deep pockets and access to a whole host of clever people and expensive resources. Now, as it goes, I was going through the same process as the lead at about the time this film is set.   A few gentle cliches aside, they've caught the atmosphere of the time, and the stifling oppression of 'suburbia', brilliantly.   Alexander, the lead,  is enigmatic and sexy at the same time.  That's a tricky thing to pull off.  Kate Reid's photography also caught my eye.Well worth a watch - if only to remind a different generation of how some things have and others haven't changed.
