Salute! Sun Yat-Sen is a clever coming of age story with a quirky sense of humour. Yee Chin-Yen already is a Taiwanese master in coming of age tales. In his latest film, he takes on a big political figure (Dr. Sun Yat-Sen - father of Republican China) with a comical twist, as the teenagers who put themselves in charge of stealing the statue, only see the financial aspect. It is a refreshing point of view and a meaningful one nevertheless. SALUTE! SUN YAT-SEN is a real shout out for the youth that is definitely worth it.
