A French pop star (Francis Huster) is electrocuted on stage and journeys to the underworld. In the afterlife (where everything is monochrome except the color red), Hades decides to let Orpheus return but keeps an eye on him via his ward, Persephone (Marie-France Pisier), who occasionally wanders up to the world of the living.
