Led by hearfelt performances from the cast, OPEN UP TO ME is a Finnish film that explores sexual identities, through Maarit (Leea Klemola), a transgender character and her lover and Sami (Peter Franzen). In a more general way, the film opens up on identities, notably through the supporting characters, Maarit's daughter, Sami's wife and son. Family and love relationships are handled in a very complex and subtle manner, which makes Simo Halinen's film an elegant film.
