On the Job
Philippines, 2013, 120 minutes
On the Job Synopsis

On The Job is about the ambitions and passions of four men trying to make a living, for themselves and their families. It shows the parallels between two prison inmates who are contract killers, and the two agents of the law investigating the murders. As they get caught in a web of machination of corrupt government officials, their jobs lead them on a head-on collision against each other with their loved ones as collateral damage.

To watch On the Job, is to know what it feels like to be in hell. The dark and unkempt sidewalks of greed, the flashy cars of criminality, the mammoth bellies of politicians who make money from the sufferings ofthe  little people of society, the callousness that keeps an inmate alive in the slammer, and the little deceits of housewives, vendors, and wanna-be criminals all interconnected in the dizzying maze of Lethe.  On the Job is simply wretchedness taking over.  The use of prisoners for hitmen is a deed by politicians without the faintest shred of compunction and mercy.  Greed is the soul of the justice system here.  And money and the gun are its limbs.

sharonmae Right u are, onli in di Pilipins! But it kind of reminds me of "Road to Perdition" the grit and cold bloodedness, though the stories aren't the same, or "No Country for Old Men". The level of cold blooded crimes committed depicted are almost the same.
