The film is quite old but rather entertaining, to say the least.  It has its funny moments especially during that time of Oblomov's childhood days, he was always seen as the naughty and playful child. Director Mikhalkov brings in a refreshing note to this film and applies inventive methods like unconventional camera movements among others.Commendable cinematography and  acting performance was very laudable most notably that of the lead characters Oleg Tabakov as Oblomov and Yelena Solovey as Olga.
