This quiet, emotional film presents two lovable characters who get caught up in the whirlwind of first love. Felicity Jones leads the film in the role of the sweet, endearing British exchange student Anna, who meets and falls in love with a charming American student named Jacob, played by Anton Yelchin. Trouble comes when they are restricted by the rules of Anna's student visa, and the two lovers are torn apart from one another in the breakdown of a long distance relationship. The film is not tainted by convoluted dialogue, for the actors improvised much of the dialogue themselves, which allows the plot line itself and the quiet, beautiful companionship between the two lovers tell the story.
