A simple, nifty concept, game performances and some nice polished touches via lensing, scoring, production design and slow zooms make this better than your average home-invasion horror, but it's really not that special. Granted, very well put together, but it's no Halloween. The hype around this film just goes to prove that the standard of horror films is pretty low these days, to the point where a very effective thriller such as this one is branded as a breakthrough horror film.
