This film was the closing film at Cannes Film Festival this year and received much critical reception then.  I can finally understand why!  It's a subtle story, endearing and slow-paced - intentionally slow.  The story doesn't rush you into the throes of passionate forbidden love from the outset, but it slowly grows on you,  like how the emotions slowly develop into something more between the two female leads.  The pace is believable, something that could happen in real life, and you can hear the internal challenges going through the minds of the characters unfold.   The acting is what sets this films apart.    A strong story with strong female characters that deserve to be seen.  Oh - and the beautiful vintage dresses are a definite plus!
