14 Blades is about sword fights Chinese style. Those incredible flying blade masters and of course there is a lot of martial arts, gore, destruction, torture and suicide. It also speaks of blind devotion to an incompetent Emperor of a corrupt government during the Ming Dynasty. A rebel name Jia with the help of a leg-less Quing, toppled him from power but the Jinyewei, the Emperor’s secret police fight back to bring back to power.  Very Chinese and partly stereotypical but the ancient setting makes it unique. I love the fight sequences and it is about time that the world gave attention to Chinese martial arts movies.
